This area
just west of Kitchener/Waterloo has some really nice classic mountain
biking. There is parking off of
Highland/Snyder Rd. When coming from Kitchener, look for a road to the right
just past a faded yellow barn. The trails are not well marked but once you
know your way around they do
connect well. |

This is a
new set of trails located south of
Paisley, about 1 km east of County Rd 3 on Concession 12. These trails are
pretty good although nothing that will
really challenge the hard core biker.
There are lots of loops but I
recommend just following the “Epic Trail” symbols as it will take you to the
best parts without doubling back (about 17 kms). It says it will take a few hours to do, but
when we did it, it only took 1 1/2 hours and it was very slippery. If its dry it would be a fast fun ride. |

Starting
from Harrison park in Owen Sound, head to Inglis Falls. Head down the hill on the road and look for a trail to your left and follow
the trail to back up and along the fence line. You will get onto the Bruce Trail and
follow the markers. Route shown is
approximately 40kms. |

Parking
is on County Rd 32 south of the 401. There is quite a maze
of trails here that include some main double track and some
amazing single track (shown as the orange line) that criss cross the
main trails (not shown). There are some nice short steep climbs and
drops. |

I rode
this trail by myself so there are no bikes in these pictures unfortunately .
It has some good single track and some sections of rock that add to the ride.
This trail is part of the Ontario Cup MTB Series. There is a fee to ride here and they supply
you with trail maps. There are more trails than what is shown here because I
didn’t have a lot of time. |

This is a
new park with some cross country trails and wood stunts. The cross country
trails are rough but can be done. The wood stunts vary from easy for
beginners to some that will challenge but are all fun! Check it out. |
|
This is one of my favourite areas to
bike in. Classic cross country trails with some fast sections, good climbs
and a few rock gardens to keep you on your toes. There is quite a lot of
ground to cover and can keep you riding for hours. Trail maps available in
Collingwood at the local bike store. There is parking is at Sixth
Sideroad and 2nd Line. |

Dryden/Sudden
Tract/Wrigley Lake Loop The route shown is approximately 29
kms. There is a lot of trails within each tract to explore. The route shown
is generally following the Grand
Valley Trail south to Brant/Waterloo Rd. Here you head east to WR Dickson
Conservation area and head north to Wrigley Rd and back to Dryden. Terrain
can be quite hilly and lots of fun! |
|
I know this is a road ride but it was
very scenic and the hills were challenging. This was a 60 km ride from
Cheticamp and had 5100 vertical feet of climbing. There were 2 climbs of over
1400 feet each. I saw deer, moose and
1 bear. The bear picture isn’t the best but I wasn’t taking any chances. |

Glen
Eden (Kelso), Milton Ontario This is a great place to ride with
very good single track and great views of the Niagara Escarpment. Map show us
starting at Hilton Falls and entering from the west side. There is an entry
fee and its good for both Hilton and Glen Eden. There is more trails than
what is shown |

This is a very beautiful island in the
Caribbean with some nice trails on an old sugar plantation from the 1700’s.
They rent Cannondales with lefty forks and provide a lunch. The trails are
short but there is one that is very difficult. It was made by Tinker Juarez
and has a beautiful lookout at the top. If you make it you can ring the bell
to announce you climbed the 800 foot high hill. |
